But until now it is not stable at all and the quality of the images are much worse than when using the Encore driver itself. Also the setup of TV on Media center is very awkward compaired to the Encore program. Hi Have you checked with the manufacturer for support or compatibility with Windows 7? If this is the device you have installed, it looks like it was made for and only supports Windows XP? Hope this helps. Thank You for testing Windows 7. USB TV Tuner Drivers Download. If this is the device you have installed, it looks like it was made for and only supports Windows XP? Hope this helps. Thank You for testing Windows 7. Hi, It is ENCOREs ENUTV analog USB device with both 32 and 64 bit drivers for both XP and Vista. I'm still experimenting with the Win7 driver. Who knows, it might start working properly. If not will have a chat with Encore. Ambidextrous installed Windows 7 Release Candidate on an HP Pavilion dv1000 Laptop with a Centrino 1.86 GB CPU and 2 GB RAM. First of all: The software (TV program) for the ENUTV driver works fine with Win7. Only down is that it must downgrade the screen for some reason. That program works very fine and quick. I have now changed the ENU driver to the TVWalker and it does work with the Win7 Media Center. Allthough it seems like there is a los of communication once in a while. However: Tuning to TV channels is a real pain in a certain lower region. Media center wants antenna, satellite or cable. OK, I choose cable, but my cable provider is not listed so I try another one on the list. Result is that all channels are wrong. I delete all channels and add them manually. Took about 2 hours for 74 channels. Tried to tweak using the antenna option but no channels were found. Media center compaired to the original software for the ENU TV modle is like Donald Duck pulling a cart with a square wheel: Slow, hard and extremely irritating. Changing channels takes from 2 to 10 seconds on Media Center while it is instantaneous on the ENU program. Well, I only have one TV tuner so I really cannot determine if the problem is with the tuner or with the Media Center. But I can only say that - If I want to watch TV - I'll have to revert to the old ENU driver. Any hints out there? Ambidextrous installed Windows 7 Release Candidate on an HP Pavilion dv1000 Laptop with a Centrino 1.86 GB CPU and 2 GB RAM. Ambidextrous, I don't think that it's going to work. As Ronnie said, Encore only lists 'windows XP' for supported operating systems. Worse, they don't list 'Windows Media Center compatible.' One major stiking point that you'll have (and, why Media Center doesn't recognize the tuner) is the lack of a hardware MPEG encoder on the tuner, or the lack of a MC-rated software MPEG encoder for that tuner stick. Frankly, you'll most likely need to replace the tuner with one that carries a 'Vista Media Center' certification. You'll also find that TV setup in Media Center, once you have a compatible tuner, is quite intuitive - one can typically simply accept all of the default settings, and need only enter ZIP code and select TV provider. We can point you to some tuners; however, we'll need to know if this is a desktop (and, what slots you have available: PCI, PCIe, or both) or laptop (and, what type of expansion slot you have.) While Encore advertises with compatibility for XP only, the installation CD does actually come with setup programs for both XP and Vista 32/64 bit. The tuner and TV program works fine with Win7 on a standalone basis and it did work on the Media Center with the last driverupdate - only very badly and slowly - probably due to the MPEG decoder you mentioned. The tuner is a USB stick that receives analog TV signal and passes on to a program that shows the TV on screen. I'm not really into changing the tuner just now as my country (Brazil) is in the process of changing to digital TV transmissions. This transition is far from finished but whenever that happens I'll get myself a digital tuner.
